Over the past few days, we have been reminded of the generosity of so many Salem businesses!  Twelve fabulous raffle
items have been donated to the garden.  We will have a table set up outside of Pamplemousse again TODAY with
raffle tickets for sale.  Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.  You will be able to put your tickets toward specific items. 
The prize drawing will be at 8:45PM TODAY.  Winners who are not present at the fundraiser will be contacted the next
day to pick up their prize.

Thomson's Garden Center & Landscaping at 61 Jefferson Avenue: A Beckett Flower Bed Fountain

Body & Soul Massage & Wellness Center at 60 Washington Street: 45 minute massage (retail value $60)

Winter Island Park: One resident tent camp site for two nights (retail value $54)

Rouge Cosmetics at 322 Derby Street:  One makeup lesson or application (retail value $75)

CinemaSalem at One East India Square: Four admissions passes (retail value $28)

The Trolley Depot at 191 Essex Street: The Map of True Places by Brunonia Barry (retail value $25.99)

Roost/The Beehive at 38-40 Front Street: a gift certificate (retail value $25)

Thanks to all of you who have donated produce to Saint Joseph's Pantry so far this year.  We've delivered at least 

four big trugs full every Thursday for the better part of the summer.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Celebrate the Harvest!

... an evening of garden-fresh treats, wine, and raffles to benefit Salem Community Gardens

Thanks to all of the enthusiastic gardeners who were able to join us for our 2nd annual potluck!  There were about 130 gardeners, plenty of delicious dishes, and gorgeous weather.

This year you can sign up to volunteer for shifts well in advance, and you will be reminded by email!

Or...

If it turns out you just don't have the time, you can opt to pay the additional $30 fee.
  (Just send a check for $30 to SCG and write "volunteering" in the note.)

                  Volunteers at Palmer Cove Garden - April 11, 2010

Just check out the calendar below with all of the opportunities listed.  You can volunteer to harvest the donation garden, help with the compost, water, weed, mow, or do odd jobs.  Just look for a volunteering shift that needs people (starts with "NEED" and the number of volunteers needed).  Then e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to sign up!  Please be sure to include the shift you'd like in the e-mail, and we'll get you on the calendar.  Then, a day or two before your shift, you'll get an automatic email reminder with specific instructions.  Easy, right?!
